Books may well be the only true magic.*
We carefully curate the books we sell, both used and new. On our shelves, you will find pre-loved books of all genres – from mystery and memoir to classics and cookbooks to science fiction and suspense. Our selection of new books features bestsellers from the past 3 – 4 years and Appalachian and Southern writers and stories, with a few hidden gems thrown into the mix. While most of Dragonfly’s books cater to adult book lovers, we also offer some young adult, chapter books, and picture books for younger readers – or the young at heart!
We can order any specific book not found on our shelves. However, if that is not possible for some reason, or if you prefer audiobooks, you can support Dragonfly Book Bar by shopping via our affiliate links – by choosing Dragonfly Book Bar on these sites, your purchase financially benefits our independent bookstore:
Bookshop.org works to connect readers with independent booksellers all over the world.
Libro.fm encourages more people to read while supporting local, independent bookstores.
We are excited to share our partnership with local artist Anita Morrell with our customers. Anita is a Bristol native whose studio is located in the city’s historic downtown, just around the corner from Dragonfly! A museum junkie, Anita became an artist organically through college courses, a summer spent working with Florida artist Charlotte Jackson, and the creative inspiration she finds in the world and friends around her. She spent 17 years in Key West, Florida, and the bold tropical light and colorful subjects there made a lasting impression on her, as did the vibrancy and simple compositions of Haitian art.
You will be able to see these wonderful colors and artistic elements in the pieces that decorate every wall in Dragonfly - from people reading and landscapes to flowers and dragonflies (of course)! And not only will they add to the shop's vibe, but you can also take her artwork home with you!

Sometimes we get used books that are special or niche in some way, and therefore don’t quite fit into our usual shelf selections. From vintage or rare books to specialty subjects like antique spoons to genres we don’t typically feature, we’ll share those books and their prices below and on our socials. If you are interested in purchasing any of these books, please email info@dragonfly-bb.com. They can be picked up in-store or shipped once the sale and shipping cost is agreed.
